The Delhi High Court today granted four weeks time to the city government to reply to the amended petition objecting to the construction of a memorial at Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib complex here for those killed in 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The court asked the government to file its counter replies after it allowed the petitioner to file an amended petition.

Justice Sudershan Kumar Mishra also granted time to NDMC, DDA, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and its President Sardar Manjit Singh GK to file their responses to the amended petition filed by former DSGMC President Paramjit Singh Sarna seeking suspension of all construction on the ground of lack sanction from all competent authorities.

DSGMC has decided to construct a memorial to honour those who were killed in 1984 Anti-Sikh riots.
