Police today arrested nine persons from communally sensitive Atali village here on charges of whipping up communal passion in the area, which has witnessed two clashes recently.
The arrests were the follow up of May 25 violence in which several houses of the minority community were torched.
These arrests were made against the FIR lodged on May 26.

There are 19 FIRs lodged in the case naming about 50 men, said Narender Chauhan, Inspector Crime Branch Faridabad.
Atali witnessed the latest clash on Wednesday, in which four persons were injured.
Yesterday, a special team formed by Faridabad Police picked up 68 persons for questioning after a search operation in the village.
On May 25, at least five persons were injured and around 15 houses gutted after a clash erupted between two communities over construction of a religious structure in the village.
