At least nine persons were injured when a concrete slab of an under-construction building collapsed on them in Shalimar area of the city, police said.
"The slab of an under-construction building belonging to Iftikhar Hussain Naqash of Shalimar collapsed. Nine persons sustained injuries in the incident," a police spokesman said.
The cause of the incident could not be immediately ascertained. The spokesman said all the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
"One person was later shifted to Bone and Joints hospital Barzulla for further treatment while eight others were discharged," he said, adding that police have started investigation in the mishap.
