Haryana government today said it has disbursed 92 per cent of total compensation to farmers for crop losses following unseasonal rains and hailstorm in the state.
"About 92 per cent of the compensation has been distributed to farmers," Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Dalip Singh in a meeting with officers of district administration in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Fatehabad.
He, in a release, said the government had ordered girdawari (crop loss assessment) to calculate the damage caused to crops of farmers and provided compensation to farmers within 15 days.
The state government had announced relief of Rs 1,092 crore to affected growers.
