The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered an FIR today against a BMC assistant commissioner, 21 officers and directors of a private firm, in connection with an alleged Rs 100 crore e-tendering scam in the civic body.
The FIR was registered after a recent court order against 22 senior civic officials, including ward officer Devendra Jain, P-North Office, in connection with the alleged e-tendering scam, along with four directors of a private technology provider.
The complainant had alleged in court that since BMC engineers were involved in manipulating the e-tendering system to illegally award contracts worth Rs 100 crore to favour contractors, an FIR should be registered against them.
After observations, the court passed the order on November 12.
