Accused in Madhumita murder case goes missing

"The local police today visited the house of Prakash Pandey in Gorakhpur there after the Nainital high court order awarding life sentence to him but he was not present," IG, law and order B P Singh said.

The court while upholding the life imprisonment to former Samajwadi Party MLA Amarmani Tripathi, his wife and two others in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case yesterday had also awarded life imprisonment to Prakash Pandey, who was earlier let off by the Dehradun CBI court for want of evidence.

Pandey alias Pappu was engaged by the MLA and the others to murder the poetess.

 

The court had also directed the trial court to take Pandey into custody immediately.
