Action against 6 BLOs for adding 'fake' names to voters' list

The District Magistrate (DM) has ordered action against six booth lever officers(BLO) for adding fake name in the voters' list for the upcoming gram panchayat.

DM Roshan Jacob said that he had received more than 113 complaints in regards to the voters' list for the Gram panchayat.

Upon enquiry it was found that the names of 24 people from Bilhaur district of neighbouring Unnao were added to the voters' list of Kanpur in unauthorised way, he said.

Similarly, names of 207 people from Sadar Tehsil and 60 people from Ghatampur tehsil were also added to the list.

Besides these, BLO of Sarsol Tehsil added 13 names from other village to list. The officer of Jarkala had included 100 fake voters, the DM said.
 

Jacob further said BLO of Gauri Abhaypur included his own name in the list.

Similarly, BLO of Jalkara added 100 names fake names in the voter list.

An enquiry has been ordered against the six BLO, Jacob said.
