: Noted comedy actor Innocent, the CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front's proposed candidate for Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency today called on the Catholic Archbishop of Thrissur, Mar Andrews Thazhath and held talks.
However, both of them declined to divulge details of what transpired during the talks.
Earlier Innocent had told a meet-the-press programme of the Press Club here that religious heads could not influence the electorate.

The actor had also called on the head of the Syro-Malabar Church, Major Archbishop, Mar George Cardinal Alenchery at Kochi yesterday.
To a query on that visit, he said it was only a 'reciprocal courtesy call' as the Cardinal had called on him some months back when he was seriously ill. It had nothing to do with electioneering, he added.
He had also called on the Bishop of Kottappuram Diocese, Mar Joseph Karikkassery yesterday, under the jurisdiction of his constituency.
The relationship between LDF and Catholic Church has been under strain for sometime after CPM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan's diatribe against the Bishop of Thamarassery.
Political observers describe the visits of the LDF candidate, even before submitting nomination papers, to different Bishops' Palaces as a step to renew the strained relations with the Church.
