Aditi wins gold in Senior National Aquatic Championship

Aditi Dhumatkar wins gold medal in the 100m Freestyle Senior Women's category at the 70th Glenmark Senior National Aquatic Championship here today.

Aditi clocked 00:29.14 sec to beat Olympian Shivani Kataria of Haryana, who settled for a silver with a time of 00:59.50 sec and Maharashtra swimmer Rayna Saldhan won the bronze medal after clocking 00:59.91 sec.

Maharashtra featuring Nimish Muley, Aditi, Avantika Chawan and Viraj Prabhu claimed gold with a time of 1:42.91 sec, while Karnataka (01:44.20 sec) and Gujarat (01:44.33 sec) won silver and bronze respectively.

Maana Patel of Gujarat bagged the gold medal with a time of 00:31.75 sec, while Jyotsna Pahsare won the silver in the 50m Backstroke Senior Women category in 00:30.91 sec and Avantika bagged the bronze medal with a time of 00:31.63 sec.
 

The Gold medal in 800m Freestyle Senior Women category was won by Shruti Mahalingam of Tamil Nadu with a time 09:40.63 sec and Preksha H M of Karnataka won the silver clocking 09:42.12 sec. Monique Gandhi won the bronze medal with a time of 09:44.14 sec.

Maharashtra won the women's championship with 148 points, while the Swimming team championship was won by Railways in the Men's with a total of 175 points and Karnataka won the overall swimming championships with 246 points.

Maharashtra retains its second position on Medal's tally with 08 Gold, 9 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
