BJD MP Rabindra Jena today approached the Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail following yesterday's CBI raid at his house in connection with the Seashore Group chit fund scam.
A team of CBI officials raided the ruling BJD MP's house in Balasore as well as in New Delhi in connection with his alleged involvement in the scam.
The CBI had also searched over three dozen places in the state and outside, including the house of BJD MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal of Choudwar-Cuttack segment.

Biswal's wife and former Cuttack Zilla Parishad chief Laxmibilasini was earlier questioned by the CBI in connection with a land deal between her and the Seashore Company.
While the Biswals have not yet decided to take any legal recourse against the CBI move, Jena, a first time MP, in his petition for advance bail has claimed the recent CBI raids as politically motivated.
It may be mentioned that Jena was questioned by the CBI last month in connection with alleged monetary transactions between a company floated by Jena and the Seashore Group.
