Press Trust of India Fatehgarh Sahib (Pb)
Rajya Sabha member and former Punjab Congress chief Shamsher Singh Dullo today said he was against giving posts to new entrants who have joined Congress from other parties.

He said he has raised this issue with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

"New entrants in the party should be made to stand in a queue before being given any major responsibility," Dullo said while addressing a function in Bhari village near Khamano.

"The party welcomes every new entrant, but he/she should gain experience before eyeing any prominent post," he said, adding workers who are associated with Congress for a long time should be given importance.

On his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, the former Congress chief said he had been serving the party for over 50 years and his hard work has finally paid off.
