AIMPLB vice- president health deteriorates; airlifted to Medanta in Gurgaon

Vice-president All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, who was undergoing treatment at a city hospital here, was today shifted to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon.

The noted Shia cleric was rushed to the Medanta hospital in Gurugram by air ambulance after his condition deteriorated, his son Kalbe Hussain told PTI on phone.

"He had fallen ill in February but had recovered ... he again fell ill about a week ago", Kalbe Hussain said.

He added that doctors suspect stomach cancer and that tests are being carried out to decide on the future course of treatment.
