: All India Mahila Congress committee todaycharged the AINRC government here with having failed to ensure development of the Union Territory.
General secretary of the Mahila Congress and cine actress Nagma, also in charge of the party affairs in Puducherry, alleged that the union territory has not witnessed any development during AINRC rule. The education system was not not good and people are reeling the impact of the inflation.
Scheduled Caste families were being totally ignored by the government, she alleged.
She was addressing cadres of the Puducherry State unit of the Mahila Congress after distributing benefits ofits various welfare schemes here today .
Nagma urged the workers to ensure that Congress rule is brought back in Puducherry in the coming polls.
Claiming that Congress was the only party which had broug brought in several progressive schemes for betterment of the people, she alleged that the free of cost household articles like mixies and grinders distributed by the government were of inferior quality,though the government had spent around Rs 100 crores for the scheme.
Nagma urged voters to bear in mind the various people centric schemes the previous Congress rule had implemented in Puducherry as in the previous UPA regime in the country.
She alleged that BJP was trying to divert the attention of the people from its 'failures' by spreading wrong information about the Congress .
She also criticised the reported remarks of a BJP MLA against Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi in the context of the students's stir in Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.
