Aluminium prices advanced by 0.23 per cent to Rs 155.75 per kg in futures market today as speculators built fresh positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July was trading higher by 35 paise, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 155.75 per kg in business turnover of 18 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contracts edged up by 30 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 155.45 per kg in 560 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market kept aluminium prices higher in futures trade.
