Aluminium prices inched up by 0.55 per cent to Rs 154.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised bets, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on upsurge in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in June went up by 85 paise, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 154.85 per kg in business turnover of 268 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May contracts edged up by 75 paise, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 153.90 per kg in 455 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants following pick up in demand from industries in the physical market influenced aluminium prices in futures trade.
