Aluminium prices eased by 0.23% to Rs 106.35 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid weak demand at spot market and weakness in base metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in October traded lower by 25 paise, or 0.23%, to Rs 107.40 per kg in a business turnover of eight lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September month shed 20 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 106.35 per kg in 84 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand at spot market and a weak trend in industrial metals after weak US manufacturing data added to signs that global growth may be slowing, hurting demand, mainly weighed on aluminium prices.
