Aluminium prices were down by 0.21 per cent to Rs 139.30 per kg in futures market today as speculators offloaded their bets amid easing demand at domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August declined by 30 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 139.30 per kg in a business turnover of 12 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in July contracts shed 25 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 139.10 per kg in 133 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market weighed on aluminium prices in futures trade.
