Aluminium up 0.4% on global trends; spot demand

Increased demand at domestic spot markets also influenced prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking rebound in base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange, aluminium prices today rose by 0.36% to Rs 111.40 per kg in futures trade as speculators enlarged positions.

Furthermore, increased demand at domestic spot markets also influenced prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in February rose by 40 paise, or 0.36%, to Rs 111.40 per kg in business turnover of six lots.

Metal for delivery in current month traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 110.60 per kg in 187 lots.

Analysts said the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to a firming trend in copper and base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and rising demand at spot markets here.
