Tata Teleservices' Anjali Birla has been selected for the International Antarctic Expedition for Climate Change and Sustainability 2015.

Organised by 2041, founded by legendary Polar explorer Robert Swan, this expedition to Antarctica would help to understand the continent's fragile ecosystem and observe the impact of climate change on its unique wildlife and magnificent landscape.

"I am very excited to be a part of the prestigious International Antarctic Expedition 2015," said Anjali, who is an officer of the Tata Administrative Services.

"This is a once in a life-time opportunity for me to engage with the next generation of global leaders to take environmental responsibility, participate in policy development, facilitate sustainable business generation and enable future green technologies," added Anjali.

The mission 2041, as popularly known, will start from Argentina on March 13th where Anjali along with 80 other participants including World Leaders, Environmental Experts and other Youth Ambassadors from 28 different nationalities will have the opportunity to explore the continent's ecology.

The mission of this expedition is to build a sustainable society, promote recycling and renewable energy and create awareness about climate change.

Commenting on Anjali's selection, Usha Rangarajan, Chief Transformation Officer, Tata Teleservices Limited, said: "We are proud of Anjali's participation in this expedition.

"The fact that this expedition is concerned with climate change and sustainability, and the impact on the environment, aligns very well with our endeavour to contribute to a cleaner and greener community. We are delighted to support our budding woman leader, and we will continue to contribute and support similar endeavours in the future.
