The Indian Army team emerged champions in the 19th Federation Cup national senior athletic championship, scoring 123.5 points at the end of the four-day event at the Mangala stadium here today.
The Tamil Nadu team came second by securing 114 points. The overall men's championships also went to the Army and Tamil Nadu with 123.5 and 48 points respectively.
Kerala claimed the overall championship in the women's category with 86 points followed by Karnataka with 68 points.

The best athlete award in the championship in the men's category was won by Inderjeet Singh of team Haryana for his stupendous toss in the shot put event, which helped him qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Srabani Nanda from Odisha was selected as the best athlete in the women's category for the agility she displayed in the 100m event. .
In the morning session, Laxmanan Laxmanan (29:49.91) and his Army colleagues Gopi T (29:52.26) and Kheta Ram (29:53.18) won the gold, silver and bronze medals in the men's 10,000m race.
In the women's 10,000m race, L Surya of Tamil Nadu won the gold after finishing in 34:42.05 minutes, followed by Sanjeevini Baburao Jadhav (34:52.91) and Swati Haribhau Gadhave (35:53.70) from Maharashtra.
Arjun Singh of Tata Motors won the gold in men's discuss throw clearing a distance of 58.51m. Dharamraj Yadav of Army (58.41m) came second and Kirpal Singh of ONGC (53.54 m.) got the bronze.
The gold in 110 m hurdles (men) was won by Siddanth Thingalaya of ONGC in 13.92s. The silver went to Surendhar (14.17s) from Tamil Nadu and K Prem Kumar of Telangana claimed the bronze in 14.26s.
The gold in women's heptathlon went to Purnima Hembram of Odisha, who secured 5462 points, followed by Liksy Joseph (5458) and Niksy Joseph (5290), who claimed the second and third positions.
