An Army man was today arrested for allegedly trying to misbehave with a 25-year-old woman in Bowenpally area here, police said.
Omprakash, posted as Sepoy, allegedly harassed the woman, a cook at a private mess after asking her to visit his place last night, they said.
Police said he was under the influence of alcohol.
The woman fled from the spot fearing Omprakash's intentions and rang up police on emergency number, following which a team of Bowenpally police arrived.
Following her complaint, police registered a case under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC against Omprakash.
He was remanded in judicial custody, Bowenpally police station inspector R B Rangaiah said.
