Arrested for trying to conduct bhoomi puja for temple

Thirtyfive persons were arrested today at Nattam in the district for tried to perform bhoomi puja as part of re-constructing a temple, demolished by officials, on the high way, police said.

The Ganesha temple was demolished last month by the officials to widen the road. However, a group of persons attempted to perform boomi pooja this morning as part of reconstucting the temple. They were arrested, police said.
