Arvind Kumar Jain is new UP Police DG

Arvind Kumar Jain was today appointed as the new Director General of Uttar Pradesh Police.

A 1979 batch officer, Arvind Kumar Jain has been appointed as the new DGP replacing A K Gupta, who retired today, Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda said.

Jain was posted as DG Training before this.

There were reports that Gupta, who retired today, might get an extension.
