Assam government has distributed free bicycles to 2,93,413 girl students to encourage girl students to attend schools.
These girl students belong to BPL families and have greatly benefited from this free distribution during the present government's tenure, an official release said here today.
It has also encouraged the girl students to attend schools and has helped in the process of acquiring skills and education.
Apart from this, the government has also distributed free school uniform to 1,63,68,581 students.
This is part of the state government's initiative to improve the education scenario of Assam, the release added.
