The Assam Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth Rs 300 crore with the AISECT Group of Universities for setting up a university in the state.
The university, the location of which was not yet finalised, would be named after physicist Dr C V Raman.
The MoU was signed by Higher Education Department Secretary Krishna Gohain and AISECT Director Amitab Saxena on Saturday at the Advantage Assam Global Investors Summit, said a release by the group said here today.
