Authorities order FIR against Congress Akbarpur candidate

The district authorities today ordered registering of an FIR against Congress candidate from Akbarpur Lok Sabha constituency for allegedly distributing cash to voters.

"There were reports of Congress candidate Raja Ram Pal distributing money to voters in Akbarpur Lok Sabha constituency. The assistant returning officer has been directed to register an FIR against him under Representation of the People Act, 1951," District Magistrate Roshan Jacob said.

Pal is a sitting MP from Akbarpur Lok Sabha seat.
