Avanse Financial closes 1st securitisation of education loans

Education-focused NBFC, Avanse Financial Services, and fintech marketplace, Vivriti Capital, today closed first securitisation of education loans in the country amounting to Rs 108 crore.

"For the education sector, such deals could go a long way in aiding the growth of the industry," Avanse Financial Services chief executive, Amit Gainda, said in a release.

Avanse Financial Services is the NBFC arm of Wadhawan Global Capital and an associate company of DHFL. It lends to students and to educational institutions.

Payments technology provider, Financial Software and Systems (FSS), today launched a preventive fraud risk monitoring and management solution to safeguard Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions.

 

The real-time product FSS Sentinel provides a robust and a comprehensive framework to help financial institutions minimise fraud exposure.

It deploys sophisticated machine-learning modelling technology to analyse fraud signals, precisely identify fraud types and make better informed transaction authorisation decisions.

Currently, 86 banks offer UPI services and the number of transactions has surpassed 150 million monthly.

With many third-party applications offering UPI as a payment option, an approximate 10 per cent of digital payments in the country are performed using UPI. ********************* Walmart India hires ex-KFC exec as chief strategy officer *

Walmart India has appointed Sameer Aggarwal as executive vice president and chief strategy and administrative officer, effective April 2

Aggarwal will lead finance, technology, legal, audit and the strategy functions, a press note said.

He will report to Krish Iyer, President and CEO of Walmart India. Aggarwal has over two decades of global experience in general management, strategy, finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Walmart India, Sameer was working as the chief finance, development and supply chain officer for KFC, Thailand. He has also worked with Sainsbury, and McKinsey and Co. ************** Mindshare rejigs leadership team *

WPP-owned media agency Mindshare today rejigged its leadership team by promoting Amrita Randhawa as Asia Pacific chief executive officer and Prasanth Kumar as the CEO for MENA and Africa.

Kumar has been elevated as the CEO for MENA and Africa in addition to his current role as the CEO for South Asia.

Randhawa, who was previously the CEO for Mindshare Greater China will remain based in Shanghai, where she will continue to manage Mindshare China as its Executive Chairperson, in addition to her overall Asia Pacific duties.

Randhawa and Kumar in their new roles would continue to work with Ashutosh Srivastava, the Executive Chairperson and CEO for growth markets, comprising of APAC, MENA, Africa and Russia/CIS.
