The Centre will organise an awareness programme on Saturday in Dehradun to inform pensioners about their rights and grievance redressal mechanism.
The basic objective of the programme is to facilitate redressal of pensioners' grievances as also to provide information and guidance on various pension and retirement related matters, according to a release by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions today.
The awareness programme for pensioners will be held on June 7 at Wadia Institute of Himalayan 33 in Dehradun, it said. The programme is being organised for pensioners living in and around Dehradun.

The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare is implementing a web-based mission mode project on pensions, namely Pensioners' Portal under the National e-Governance Plan.
Under the project, the Department has Centralized Pension Grievances Redressal and Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS).
The programme is conducted to inform pensioners about the operational aspects of the portal and the grievances redressal mechanism in particular.
So far such programmes have been conducted at Chandigarh, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Lucknow, Thiruvanthapuram, Kolkata and Jallandhar.
The awareness programme will be chaired by Sanjay Kothari, Secretary of the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare. "The mobilisation of pensioners will be done in association with government pensioners association, Dehradun," the release said.
