B-town remembers Pancham Da on his 76th birth anniversary

Bollywood celebrities Rishi Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar, Sujoy Ghosh, Vishal Dadlani paid tribute to legendary music director RD Burman, fondly called Pancham da, on his 76th birth anniversary, today.

Kapoor, 62, took to micro-blogging website Twitter to remember the late iconic composer.

"Happy Birthday Pancham! Will always miss you," he tweeted along with a picture of himself with the composer.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said, "At a time when film songs come and go, only one man's melodies remain timeless. The incomparable genius and magician RDBurman! #HBDPancham."

"And it is happy birthday R D Burman day love that man," filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh wrote.
 

"Happy Birthday, RD Burman. #PanchamForever #ZindaHainHamaareDilMein," singer-composer Vishal Dadlani tweeted.

Music Director Wajid Khan, of Sajid-Wajid, captioned a picture of Burman, "Very cute pic of one of my fav RD Burman. God bless his soul!"

"Happy birthday Pancham Da!" singer Shaan, tweeted.

"Celebrating Pancham Da's Birthday today," singer Harshdeep Kaur wrote.

Burman, known for evergreen songs like "Yaadon ki Baraat", "Yeh Shaam Mastani", "Jai Jai Shiv Shankar", "Dum Maaro Dum", "Tujse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi", "Kuch Na Kaho", passed away in 1994, aged 54.

Burman won his last Filmfare Award, posthumously, for Best Music Director for "1942: A Love Story".
