"Proud to be the father of a girl, I cannot imagine anybody killing a female foetus or not letting the girl child study," the lead singer of leading Bangla band 'Bhoomi' said here this afternoon at the campaign spearheaded by Child Rights and You.
"We take pride in being modern and civilised and continue to act like this but still there lies the dichotomy in the very attitude among a section of us," Surojit said.
"I lend my support to CRY and organisations like them who are working to eradicate this malaise from the society," the 2001 chart-topper 'Baranday Roddur' lead singer said.
This campaign has been launched to ensure the survival, health, nutrition and draw the attention of the society to the condition of the girl child, CRY spokesperson said.
