Ambassador of Belgium, Pierre Vaesen and Counsellor Economic Affairs, Antoine Delcourt today called on Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil and discussed several issues for cooperation between the two nations.
Stating that India and Belgium enjoy mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages, the Belgium Ambassador said, they want to develop university exchange programmes between the two countries.
Accepting his suggestion, Patil said it will be of immense mutual benefit for the people if there was exchange of scientists, teachers and university students.

Patil said, Punjab was emerging as a progressive and vibrant investment destination in agriculture sector and suggested for strengthening partnerships in agro-based ventures, especially food processing.
Patil stressed that there was a major scope to further expand economic and business cooperation in wide range of fields like solar energy, stem cell technology, sharing of educational tools and technologies.
