Ben Winchell replaces Taylor Lautner in 'Max Steel'

Actor Ben Winchell has been tapped to replace Taylor Lautner in the live-action 'Max Steel' film.

The 'Twilight' star signed on to play the superhero in 2009, but dropped out of the movie a year later for the Stretch Armstrong film.

He later exited that project as well, reported Ace Showbiz.

Newcomer Winchell will star as the extreme sports star-turned-secret agent Max McGrath alongside Ana Villafane, who will play his love interest Sydney Gardner.

The much-anticipated film will be directed by Stewart Hendler and 'Thor: The Dark World' screenwriter Christopher Yost will pen the script.
