Benedict Cumberbatch to perform for Letters Live in New York

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch will be among the stars to feature in the New York shows of 'Letters Live'.

The London-originated production is a live show that pairs celebrities with historic, unforgettable "literary correspondence" from personalities such as David Bowie, Mohandas Gandhi, Maya Angelou, Elvis Presley, Patti Smith, Abraham Lincoln, James Baldwin, and Che Guevara and others.

Cumberbatch will perform live at Manhattan's Town Hall from May 18-19, Letters Live announced in a statement.

Celebrities who featured in Letters Live shows in the past include Gillian Anderson, Ian McKellen, Kylie Minogue, Russell Brand, Thandie Newton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rose McGowan, Riz Ahmed, Mark Hamil, Tom Hiddleston, Sally Hawkins, JJ Abrams, James Corden, Oscar Isaac, Mary J Blige, Jude Law, Brie Larson, Sir Ben Kingsley and others.
