West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today assured a visiting Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) delegation who called on her at Nabanna that the state would extend support if the business body got the chance of hosting the World Chamber Congress in the city in 2017.
The chamber said in a statement that the delegation comprising executive committee members led by President Roopen Roy apprised the chief minister about the chamber's bid to host the congress which was a biennial event.
The final decision would be known after the jury of the Paris-based 'World Chambers Federation' meet in Tokyo in October 17 this year.

She also assured that a senior state government official would be accompanying the delegation to Tokyo.
The ICC proposed that a business delegation from Bengal be taken to Kunming for promoting the 'Biswa Banga Sammelan' which is scheduled to take place in January, 2015.
