Senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today termed two-day long 'Progressive Punjab Investors Summit' being held in Mohali as merely a "political gimmick" on part of Parkash Singh Badal headed government to divert attention from real issues confronting the state.
She said that the Badal government had been very vocal in beating the drum and claiming that state had been attracting huge investments for number of projects.
The former Chief Minister said that state government should release the details about actual investment made in the state in present tenure of the government.

She said that fact of the matter is that Punjab has fared "dismally" in regard to attracting investments in the state.
Bhattal claimed that even Chief Minister Badal had also "admitted off and on", that the state has not been able to attract NRI money despite his government asking them to invest in their native state.
She said that the Badal government needs to explain that why the state has failed miserably in terms of getting investments.
She said what to talk of investment from foreign shores even the domestic industry in Punjab is in pitiable condition owing to "flawed industrial policy" of Badal government.
Bhattal said that Badal government is suffering from policy paralysis.
"Due to this state's economic growth has been impeded to great extent in industrial sector and other areas including agriculture," she said.
She said that fiscal condition of state has gone from bad to worse.
"The state government is clueless to manage finances of state and contain reckless spending and unplanned expenditure," she added.
