The 142nd birth anniversary of saint-philosopher Aurobindo was celebrated here today.
People visited the Aurobindo Ashram and some sat in meditation before the 'samadhis' (memorials) of Aurobindo and his spiritual coordinator The Mother (Meira Alfassa).
The Ashram management also allowed the devotees to visit the chamber in the Ashram where Aurobindo carried out his spiritual experiments.
Aurobindo, who founded the Ashram in 1926, died in 1950 while the Mother passed away in 1973.
