BJP and Congress are leading in one each seat for the two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh, elections for which was held on April 9.
BJP candidate Kiren Rijiju is leading by 26,406 votes in Arunachal West Parliament seat over his nearest rival sitting MP Takam Sanjoy of the Congress. Rijiju fought a multi-cornered contest with eight candidates from the seat.
In the Eastern Parliament seat, Congress candidate and Union minister of state for minority affairs Ninong Ering is surging ahead of BJP's Tapir Gao by a margin of 10,836 votes in a triangular contest.

In 2009 both Sanjoy and Ering won the seats by a margin of 1,314 votes and 68,449 votes respectively.
The Rijiju and Gao won both the seats in 2004 by a margin of 47,424 votes (Arunachal West) and 44,994 votes (Arunachal East) respectively.
