BJP nominee seriously injured in mishap, his aides killed

BJP candidate Brajmohan Ram was today seriously injured in a road accident, in which his bodyguard and personal assistant died in Latehar district, police said.

Ram, a former MP and BJP nominee from Latehar Assembly constituency, was travelling by car when a dumper hit his vehicle from the opposite side between Chandua and Balumath, killing the two and leaving Ram seriously injured.

Ram is being treated in a hospital in Ranchi.

BJP leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda demanded a probe to ascertain whether it was a mishap or there was any conspiracy behind the incident.

Latehar goes for polls on November 25 in the first of the five-phase of election.
