BJP in Puducherry today protest against the move of government to hike the water tax and also to levy a fresh tax on underground drainage facility in all households.
Chief Minister Narayanasamy had announced recently that a meeting of his cabinet had decided to hike the water tax and to levy fresh tax on underground drainage facility and added that the tax structure would be notified in the State Gazette.
President of Puducherry unit of the BJP V Saminathan said in a release that the move would hit the poor and also middle income groups of people.
Saminathan said that the government should ensure common man was not affected by the move to raise the tax or by leving new tax.
