BJP sets up 95 centres to collect food packets for flood

State unit of BJP today set up 95 centres in the city to collect food packets for the flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir.

"As many as 95 collection centres have been set up in Jammu for collection of food packets to be distributed among stranded people at Jammu and Kashmir provinces", senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh said here.

"In the hour of crisis, people are requested to prepare packets of ration including biscuits, dry fruits, breads, atta (flour) poories along with pickle, rusks and kulcha or any other dry eatable, so that it reaches affected people in good condition," he said.
 

Singh has further stressed that for the time being they are only collecting dry eatable ration and other material shall be collected later.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Unit on the direction of the Central leadership has decided to depute a team to Kashmir to assess on the spot situation of the damages and relief work being conducted there, he added.
