Blast rocks Shiite area of western Kabul, casualties feared: officials

A blast at an education centre rocked a minority Shiite area of western Kabul today, officials said, with casualties feared in the latest suspected attack in the war-weary capital of Afghanistan.

"There are casualties unfortunately. The nature of the explosion is not known yet," police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said.

The interior ministry confirmed the blast and casualty fears.
