A bomb hoax today at the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) headquarters at Palika Kendra saw the building being evacuated and hampered the day's work there.
"We received a call from a landline number of a PCO in the Laxmi Nagar area of east Delhi informing about a bomb inside the building. We rushed police and fire officials along with a dog and bomb squads to the spot," said DCP New Delhi Vijay Singh.
He said that police are trying to trace the identity of the caller.

According to NDMC spokesperson Jagjivan Bakshi, work for the day remained suspended as the building was evacuated by noon.
"The building was evacuated but nothing was found. The operations for the day were affected at the NDMC office," he said.
