Veteran Indian boxer L Sarita Devi's mother, L Khomdonbi Devi, has died after prolonged illness.
Sarita, a former world champion and multiple-time Asian champion, lost her mother on December 2.
The demise was condoled by six-time world champion M C Mary Kom.
"I am extending my deepest sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family of my beloved aunty, mother of my friend and co-boxer L Sarita Devi, who expired on December 2 after prolonged sickness," Mary Kom said in her condolence message.
"I wish and pray that god will restore joy and happiness in the family" she added.
Sarita was recently seen in action at the world championships in Delhi where she lost in the preliminary stage.
