Three persons, including a minor, were killed and as many others were injured when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a coal-laden dumper on Sidhi-Waidhan road in the district, police said.
The incident took place last night under Bargavan police station limits when the victims were going to attend a marriage ceremony, Bargavan police station in-charge Rakesh Sahu said.
The deceased were identified as Dinesh Saket (17), Lalu Saket (65) and Gopi Prasad (42), police said.
The injured are undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
"The autorickshaw driver as well as the dumper driver fled from the spot after the incident," the official said.
Police have registered a case and seized the dumper.
