Boy dies in mishap in wedding function

An 11-year-old boy died after a coffee machine burst at a wedding function in Gandhi Nagar area of Delhi, police said today.

Harsh, who lived in Ambala and had come here with his family to attend the function, died in the mishap last night, police said.

"The incident took place around 9:30 PM when Harsh was standing beside the coffee machine. He was charred after the machine burst suddenly," a senior police officer said.

The boy was rushed to nearby GTB Hospital where doctors referred him to Safdarjung Hospital. However, he was later shifted to the Max Hospital in Saket, the officer said, adding that he died during medical treatment.
 

A case of negligence has been registered against the coffee machine operator, who would be arrested soon, he said.
