Bus driver meets with accident during stone pelting, dies

A minbus driver died allegedly after losing control of the vehicle during a stone pelting incident in the summer capital here today, police said.

Ali Mohammed Daga (55) was driving the minibus from Bemina area of the city towards Hyderpora when some miscreants started pelting stones near Tengpora, a police official said.

He said stones hit the driver who lost control of the vehicle after suffering injuries and the minibus collided with an electric pole on a road divider.

The driver was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, the official said.

Police have registered a case in the incident and a probe is underway, he added.
