Bypoll to RS seat vacated by Naidu on Nov 16: EC

The bypoll to the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by M Venkaiah Naidu on becoming the vice president will be held on November 16, the Election Commission said today.

Naidu was a member of the upper house from Rajasthan. He had resigned as Rajya Sabha member on August 10 while his term was to end on July 4, 2022.

A statement issued by the commission said the notification for the bypoll will be issued on October 30 and November 6 will be the last date of filing nominations.
