Cabinet approves agreement with Maldives in sports

An agreement with Maldives to strengthen exchange of sporting ties between the two countries was approved by the Union Cabinet today.

The MoU, signed in October, was approved by the Cabinet, an official statement said here.

"The bilateral exchange programmes will help in expanding knowledge and expertise in the areas of sports science, sports medicine, coaching techniques, participation in youth festivals and camps which would result in improvement in performance of India's sportspersons in international tournaments and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries," the statement read.
