The governor of Yunnan province of China Li Jiheng today called for greater ties with West Bengal in the field of trade, investment and tourism.
He said that both Yunnan and Bengal shared great historical ties and Kunming, capital of Yunnan and Kolkata had been declared as 'sister' cities.
The governor said that the proposed BCIM (Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar) economic corridor had been a result of joint initiative of both the countries.
Tourism had a great potential for both the places and more visits among people should take place, he said at an interaction organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here.
