Canadian High Commissioner to India, Stewart Beck, today congratulated Narendra Modi and BJP for the victory in Lok Sabha elections and hoped India and Canada would further strengthen bilateral relations under the new government in India.
"I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Mr. Narendra Modi, for winning a clear majority in India's general elections, Beck said in a statement issued here today.
Beck said Canada looks forward to further strengthening ties through engagement with the newly-elected government.
He said he had the pleasure of meeting Modi during his time as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and looks forward to working with him to grow Canada's bilateral relationship with India.
